Lib Tech Snowboards
Lib Technologies or Lib Tech is an American manufacturer known mostly for its cutting edge snowboard designs but also manufactures both skateboards and surfboards. The story of Lib Tech begins with Mike Olson. He built his first snowboard in 1977. By 1984 he had dropped out of college and began making snowboards full time. Olson was later joined by Pete Saari where they continued to build Lib Tech brand to what it is today. Lib Tech is part of Mervin Manufacturing. In addition to Lib Tech, Mervin manufacturing is also the home of of GNU, Roxy, and Bent Metal. One of Lib Tech’s most well known riders would have to be Travis Rice.
Lib Tech’s Innovative Technology
Now that you are familiar with the company, let’s take a look at some of the cutting edge technology that Lib Tech uses when making their snowboards. Each and every year the R&D division hand builds a variety of new shapes, flexes, contours, blends, and constructions. Next, they incorporate these designs with extensive testing with their pro teams. This hands on testing by their pros is what really allows Lib Tech and their R&D team to refine and fine tune each snowboard model.
